PLEASURES:
Bread dipped in olive oil with flakey salt. Ideally fresh focaccia. I fill a tiny 3-inch ceramic dish with my favorite olive oil (Partanna, if I have it) and finish with Maldon salt for the perfect afternoon snack.
Museum gift shops. I can’t help myself, I have to stop at the gift shop on the way out of a museum. The best one in LA is at the Hammer Museum—it was recently remodeled and has such a thoughtful assortment of art books, design objects, and great merch.
