Pleasures

1. I've gotten very into the ritual of post-dinner tea with friends and family. It's my version of a nightcap. And there's something about a gorgeous tea kettle that makes it feel like an occasion. I bought a silver vintage one at a random store in Paris, but I'm always drooling over the ones on Abask, like this gorgeous Astier de Villette one.

2. Books! Ideally tattered, well-read and well-used, tangible books, with writing and notes in the margins. I'm currently reading Graydon Carter's "When the Going was Good," and it's a wonderful dip into a bygone era. I love Abe Books for used books at great prices, and Idea Books for somewhat obscure, wildly inspirational finds.
